How many children have played in Knothole baseball leagues, on fields just like this, over the years? While I'm sure that there have been many home runs hit, I'd be willing to bet that foul balls are a much more commonplace occurrence. In some ways, foul balls can be even more fun to retrieve. All you know is that it fell into the tree line. Who knows where it might have ended up? For some reason, parents seem to love to send their 6-8 year olds in to fetch these balls. i must admit, it is rather amusing watching the little ones getting so excited over a ball that is not even in play. I hope you might consider retrieving this foul ball that landed behind home plate.
