Blue Bridge and Beyond.... Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Graculus: This cache has been missing for some time and as the owner has not responded to recent logs or logged into geocaching.com for some time I am archiving it.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Free 1 hour parking can be found at N50º 43.070 W002º 26.464 and N50º 43.072 W002º 26.363. The cache will take no longer that 1 hour to find, log and return. Sensible outdoor footwear will need to be worn as the trail becomes wet, muddy and uneven in places. The trail is flat but not suitable for wheelchairs due to the uneven pathways. The trail is however suitable for all terrain pushchairs, although during the winter months this may become difficult.
The walk takes in a small part of the Cerne Valley Trail which is a 26 mile circular route following the course of the river Frome. This part of the trail will take you to the the picturesque Hangman's Cottage, over the Victorian Blue Bridge and beyond......

What to look out for:
Hangman's Cottage N50º 43.071 W002º 26.396 is named after the hangman who lived here during the Monmouth Rebellion in 1685. The cottage is now a private residence.

Blue Bridge N50º 43.246 W002º 26.282 is a Victorian iron bridge constructed in 1877 and refurbished in 2002. The bridge, named after its prominent colour, crosses the River Frome where shoals of brown trout can be seen treading the water and swans and cygnets are frequent visitors.

The cache is a small click lock plastic container which contains a log book, pencil and a selection of kids treats. Happy geocaching!
