I used to have a cache in this general area called A Lesson In Civics but some of the constituent elements kept on going missing so I had to archive it. This cache should be more resilient!
The listed coordinates get you to a door, behind which is a stairwell. In order to find the correct coordinates to the physical cache -- a small silver cylinder -- you need to climb the stairs to the highest level. Once there you need to go to each of the four corners and look for something. [FYI -- the cache is NOT located in the same place as the original. One of the reasons I decided to archive the old one is that there is a non-GC letterbox within a few feet and it likely caused some confusion.] The coordinates for the cache are:
N 35° 35. AB 7
W 82° 33. CD 4
A = from the NW corner the number of large yellow Xs that can be seen near the top floor of the nearby tall building
B = from the SW corner the number of times the letter S occurs in the street name shown on the sign with a large 84
C = from the SE corner the number of times the letter S occurs in the name near the top of a nearby building that starts with the letter K
D = from the NE corner the number of letters in the color of the Motor Company faintly seen just below Morgan Bros. Inc.
CHECKSUM: A + B + C + D = XY; X + Y = 6
The cache is located a short walking distance from the listed coordinates. The log is orange. Enjoy!
