Scandic Hotel så lyset for første gang helt tilbage i 1963
hvor konceptet startede med ét hotel under navnet Esso Motor Hotel
ved Närke i midten af Sverige.
I 1966 åbnede de deres andet hotel på Sveriges vestkyst i Mölndal
nær ved Gøteborg.
Som årene gik, bestemte hotelkæden sig i 1972 at bygge hoteller i
Norge og Danmark.
Først i 1984, året efter hotelkæden var solgt til et svensk
konsortium, fik de navnet Scandic Hotel.
Scandic er i dag Nordens førende hotelkæde med 145 hoteller i ni
lande med i alt 6.600 medarbejdere.

Scandic Hotel as the light for the first time back in 1963
when the concept started with one hotel under the name Esso Motor
Hotel at Närke in the middle of Sweden.
In 1966 they opened their second hotel on the west coast of Sweden
in Mölndal near Gothenburg.
As the years went by, certain hotel chain in 1972 to build hotels
