Geocache Description:

Log-only, byop, 3-inch container under natural cover at a wide pullout on the highway to Crater Lake’s south entrance.

The trees are so dense here it was hard to get the satellites lined up. Cache is on the south or east side of highway well before the park boundary and before you start the switchbacks. The wide pullout is beside an old lightening strike, a grey weathered skeleton of a tree, maybe 20-30 feet tall. It’s a very distinctive landmark. Hopefully an easy find for travelers anxious to reach the beauty of Crater Lake, the cache is within 15 feet of the base of the “snaggletooth”.

Elevation: about 4,307
