A ten minute walk takes you to Mugdock Castle, the castle was used during the Taggart episode 13, Hostile Witness (1990), it became the scene of a double murder with the bodies being left there in a replica old Ford van.
Look out for a strange tree that looks like a corkscrew on the left after you pass through a stile near castle, this is the cache site. To access tree walk slightly further down lane to a wide mown grassy area on left, enter here then double back to tree.
The castle is a very short distance further down the lane.
After cache you may like to go for a refreshment to the visitor centre nearby, the stunning Georgian coachouse here was used in Taggart- Knife Edge (1986) as a biker gangs lair. Then derelict but now restored with a small theatre and cafe.
Easy cache, no special footwear required.
