Geocache Description:

We survived Ike and so did most of our caches.
While in the area doing our post-Ike cache check, I found this spot perfect for a Muddy Buddies new cache.

We stayed at home for Hurricane Ike. Being on the west side of Houston, we faired a little better than some. We lost 3 sections of fence and the roof of the dogs house. Both were replaced the next day with new boards and a new plastic doghouse.
The biggest loss was the loss of power. For 7 days, 10 hours and 20 minutes, we had no electricity. Since we didn't have the luxury of natural gas at the house, we pulled out the camp stove and lantern, and the battery powered TV. Of course the only thing on TV was news about Ike, so that wasn't much help. We managed to get lucky and find some ice at a store in Katy, so we loaded up with the limit of 8 bags. That lasted us almost the entire week.
We ended up tossing everything from the deep freeze and fridge that we couldn't eat. Most of it was old anyway.
Around Wednesday or Thursday after the storm, Mr Muddy Buddies office was back up and running, so we both went in. Mr. Muddy Buddy got to work, and Mrs. Muddy Buddy got to get her internet fix. It certainly brightened our outlook.

Anyway, the cache is in a wooded area in George Bush Park. It can be accessed from the equestrian area parking lot, or the hike/bike trail.
