Geocache Description:

This cache is located off the Blue Trail in Cockaponset State Park. A map of the Southern portion of Cockaponset PS can be found at http://www.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?a=2716&q=325056&depNav_GID=1650#map

In early American times, a person who manufactured charcoal was called a collier. Charcoal was produced in the section of Cockaponset State Park in which this geocache is located. This cache is not far from the reminents of the collier's hut. Additional information on charcoal production in Cockaponset SP can be found a little further north on the Blue Trail.

The most direct route to the cache is to park at the designated parking location and take the Blue and Red Trail north along the west side of Pataconk Reservoir. Stay on the Blue and Red Trail as long as you can. It intersects the Blue Trail a little past the north end of the lake.

The cache is a large plastic bottle with a screw top.

You can park at N41 24.431, W072 31.568
