A visual treat for the soul on the North Shore of O'ahu.
This spot is a secret little gem tucked away on Iliohu Way, just
outside Waimea Bay. The view stretches from Pupkea to Ka'ena Point
and offers the cacher with a new view of Waimea Bay.
This would be a fantastic spot to whale watch in the Winter months
and perhaps watch the Eddie Aikau Big Wave surf contest. To find
this spot, turn onto Iliohu Place, parking is tight and limited.
There is ocean access off, Iliohu place, but you are looking for a
small trail off Iliohu Way. Follow this trail, it will lead you
past an ancient heiau and soon the view will present itself. Enjoy.
****There is a small sign posted to the left of the trailhead
requesting that, due to the uneven terrain and vegetation, that one
does not trespass, but after speaking with a resident of the
street, the sign is mostly for liability issues and the lady said
it is ok to take in the view. So the cache is activated again, but
please tread lightly and CITO, so cachers can continue to see this
beautiful "Waimea View".***** The cache is small, waterproof and
hidden in the most logical of places. I hope you enjoy this spot as
much as I did when I first discovered it, but please respect the
land as this whole area is very sacred and remember to CITO as you
travel. There is a new coin for the FTF and room in the container
for small trade items. Congratulations to Geogerms, 808ladybug and
the little germs on being FTF!
