This gnome home is in a long, narrow park in the “09” area of San Antonio, TX. It is one of a series of seven gnome homes spread around the city that gives clues to an eighth and final bonus cache. See GC1HVJE, GC1HVK1, CG1HVN0, GC1HVN2, GC1HVN6, GC1HVNA, GC1HVNE, and GC1HWF5 for the entire series.
Our city parks offer many benefits to all kinds of animals, plants and people. This park is a long, thin, classically linear park of about 60 acres designated as part of the larger Salado Creek Greenway Park project funded by bond initiatives and managed through the San Antonio Parks and Recreation department. The Salado Creek Greenway Park project will eventually connect several large parks across the northern and eastern parts of the city by way of formal trails linking the group of parks together. This park was renovated and expanded as a benefit of being part of the Salado Creek Greenway Park project! There are other geocaches in this park along with this Gnome Home 5 of 8! The “door” to this gnome home is at the base of a large but very dead and decaying tree just a short walk from and in sight of the hike and bike path, so use stealth coming and going. This gnome is a hard worker hut his home can look a bit like a pig sty at times because he works so hard bringing home the bacon he doesn't have time to redecorate. Sign the log and be sure to record the bonus cache information located at the beginning of the log and/or on the outside of the container. Leave both the gnome and the log at the gnome home and put everything back as you found it … or better.
Thorns; Prickers; Cactus; Mosquitoes, some Poison Ivy nearby, Spiders and other bugs; Hike and Bike Trails, Parking areas are at either end of the park.
