A short walk, can be muddy at start. Watch out for jaggy plants near GZ.
A suitable starting and parking point is in Craigmaddie Road
N 55 56.098 W 004 16.130 There is no off street parking however there is plenty of room for passing vehicles, please do not block any of the many entrances round here.
Ignore the stile (overgrown brambles), instead cross into field opposite the "camera" sign, walk along faint, sometimes muddy path on grass along bottom of the field and follow GPS to cache, tree cover may restrict reception so be sure to read hint before you go.
Across the water you will see Bardowie Castle, it featured several times during Taggart episode 6 Funeral Rites, in the episode it was known as Fintry Commune, the grass in front of the castle had several caravans and props present to make it look more like a working commune.
If you want a better look proceed further along the field to the corner, cross the twin step wooden stile, follow muddy path to N 55 55.975 W 004 16.442 This is as far as you can go before reaching private gardens, the view of the castle from here is superb across the water.
I am fortunate enough to have been in the castle several times in the 70s, it is a stunning place with a fantastic outlook.
Please do not approach castle from driveway, it is a private area.
