Cache located on a small hill along the Coloane trail with a nice view over the South China Sea and parts of neighbouring China.
The second cache I placed in Macau. The cache is located in Coloane "Far away" from the casino's in Macau and Taipa.
The island of Coloane has a lot of nice trails in a beautifull setting. The biggest one is the Coloane trail which takes you around the hills in about 2 to 3 hours depending on where you start and how fast you walk. This cache is the first of a few caches I intend to place along this trail.
From the cache location and during your walk on the southern part you will have nice views over the South China Sea if the visibility is good. The northern part of the trail has great views over the Cotai Strip where all the new casino's are being build right now. To get to this cache there are a few options.
A good starting point would be Coloane village. When you exit Coloane village walking to the south towards Hac Sa Beach there is a path going up the hill after the prison on your left hand side (Caminho Antigo de Seac Min Pun). That will get you onto the trail and you will manage to find your way using the GPS.
Another option is Hac Sa beach. From there walk to the starting point passing the Helen Garden appartment buildings. Both entries from Coloane village and Hac Sa beach are at about sea level so you need to climb about 120 meters up.
If you prefer to start a little bit higher get off the bus at the parque merendas Cheoc Van. At this little picnic area with parking available 2 trails will get you up the hills. From this location it is the shortest walk to the cache.
The cache is a black Lock & Lock container about 20cm X 13cm X 6 cm.
