Geocache Description:

This is one of several new caches we placed after discovering the abandoned Goose Flat Trail. The trail has not been funded since at least 2002, but remains in good condition in the Rattlesnake Bar area.

An old trail marker near the start of the trail lists the distance from the Peninsula Campground to Goose Flat as 4.2 miles. You'ld still have some ways to go from here, and the certainty of a well defined trail past the next cove is questionable. So, if you reach this point, you might be thinking to yourself, "Goose Flat or Bust!"

The cache is a cammoed waterproof match container, hidden in an obvious spot within arm's reach of the trail.
