Much historical information about the Victoria Battery, which closed in 1952, is available at various sites in the area. We have placed this cache to highlight the hidden underpass access way that crosses the river to the displays and restoration projects taking place at the old battery. Often good keen blokes can be seen down in the river trying their luck with the trout so you might want to join them. Or there is plenty of room to run about, kick a ball or picnic away from the river.
Loads of muggles on a sunny weekend but still accessible.
