Geocache Description:

Sharp Cemetery or the Deerfield Center Burying Ground was founded in 1838 upon the death of Nancy Faussett. She had selected her burial place on the farm of her nephew, Thomas Sharp, which was located on section 21 of Deerfield Twp, Livingston County.

While you're here stroll around the grounds and read the gravestones. You'll find the final resting places of the area's pioneers, including an Indian grindstone marking the grave of Thomas Faussett.

The "SQ" in the cache name above signifies Spirit Quest, a project by the Northwest Ohio Geocachers to distinguish those caches that are set in cemeteries or memorial gardens. This cache is part of that series created by NWOGEO members to highlight cemeteries or memorial gardens in the area. Please be respectful of the area, and observe their rules and posted hours which are typically sunrise to sunset.
