Geocache Description:

Located with a view of Mardleybury manor and the pond.

This ghostly tale is that of a young lady, who lived at the Manor House in the 18th century.
On her way home from a party one night, her coach driver took the bend in the road near the pond at speed, causing the coach to overturn and spilling the fair haired woman into the pond’s icy waters, where she drowned.
Since that time, many have reported seeing a blonde and beautiful woman in a long flowing gown or cloak, flitting around near the tragic spot. Her sudden appearance has caused many a driver to break suddenly on the sharp bend. Some have veered from the road to avoided hitting the woman, who disappears in front of their eyes.
