Fishermans Life Traditional Cache

This cache was placed in an area where there is a view of 2 of the 3 wharfs in West Pubnico. . This should be an easy find, as its my 1st cache, and will be placing more soon.
This cache is named Fishermans Life, and this spot was an area I used to go to after school and watch my Dad come in from fishing and watch the boats haul traps. This area can be very busy during the lobster season, that runs from the last Monday in November to the last day of May. But there is not much going on during the winter and summer months. This cache is about a 600 foot walk from the parking area at the wharf at the end of the Chemin du Rocher. Chemin de L'Eglise is not passable by vehicle and is a muddy walk. Its an easy walk with some beach stone but most has been packed down by ATV's. The days of fishing a stones throw away from the shore are over now. Lobster fisherman must go out much further now to catch enough lobster to make a living. A few smaller boats still fish just off shore but there are fewer and fewer. This spot has a view of 2 wharfs, "The Rocher" and "Abbotts Harbour", both mostly have just lobster boats. The island just off shore with the lighthouse is called White Head Island. The cache, when placed, had some trading items for kids like stickers and marbels and is a camoed lock and lock. Parking is best at the Rocher wharf at 43 39.142 and 065 49.118. Please don't block any vehicles in when you park.
