THIS IS NOT MENTALLY STRAINING BUT....... Night adventure here we come!!!!
This is a challenging night caches it is a bit of fun for experienced adventurers. Expect to take at least couple of hours on it and the view is worth the walk about 4km one way.
There are three colour runs Red, Blue and Yellow - all in parrallel (I suggest the person with the longest legs to the yellow run.) This means that if there are more than one of you with a gps, great - use the co-ords each a different colour from the start box (tri coloured mint tin) - this will provide you each co-ords for the next stop for yet another (colour coded) mint tin.... there are 7 plus the same one for everyone at the beginning so 8 tins each and the final container large. Each tag has two sets of info one for up and one for down so guess what..... you can swap colours at the top and cache down to the carpark if you want or just take an easy walk on the nice road.
IMPORTANT
When reading the tags keep in mind they are labelled UP and DOWN there is no back tracking. There is bush bashing for the brave and the bike has little advantage except for the fun trip down.
There are reflectors (Fire tacks) where the caches are hidden. Be careful as the main road is good but you will be leaving and rejoining it at certain points and then the terrain gets rough and you will not be following any tracks just straight bush bashing and look for the obvious pile of rocks NOT inside stumps or hollows (dangerous at night).
There are dogs, roos and other interesting things going on so please take care and following some simple bush rules. Let someone know you are on the hill or have a buddy with you all caches ae easily found under rocks.
My dolphin torch picks up the reflectors at 25+meters no worries but close range the led headlight wins hands down.
To log this cache you need only do one of the three up courses and sign log book at the top.
DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT NIGHT WITHOUT A TORCH AND PROPPER SHOES the roos are very big so if you make a bit of noise you wont startle them!!
Rating this as a day cache would have it at 2/2
Special thanks to Redbudgie1
FINAL NOTE: Due to the electronic interference your GPS wont work well at gz...... look for the fire tacks.
I ALWAYS ENJOY A WALK SO IF YOU WANT COMPANY PLEASE DROP ME A LINE.
