Geocache Description:

This will introduce you to many places in and around Mount Holly Springs. Solving this GeoCache can be done by car or by bicycle. Bring a pen or pencil to log your find.

Note: Please read all the clues before you begin your quest so that you can ensure you have everything you need. Solving this GeoCache should take about 90 minutes in all. The posted coordinates do not take you to the cache - they take you to the first step in this puzzle. To solve this puzzle, answer the clues below and plug in the results as follows:

N 40 AB.CDE
W 077 TV.XYZ

Z = go to N40 07.785 W77 11.568 and park. Look above the main entrance door and count the number of periods, then subtract two. If school is in session, there are two nearby signs along streets or roads with the same information.

X = go to N40 07.410 W77 11.527 and face North. The building in front of you has long horizontal rows of windows on each side of the door. How many windows are in the long row to the left of the door?

V = go to N40 07.085 W77 11.604 and park. Walk to N40 07.082 W77 11.613 and find the small metal plaque from the 20th century. Take the number represented by the month on the plaque and subtract 11.

T = go to N40 06.574 W77 11.033 and park. Walk to N40 06.544 W77 11.011 and find the big sign. Look for the word that starts with C and ends with D and count the letters. From this, find the word that starts with P and ends with D and count the letters – subtract this from the first number.

A = go to N40 06.879 W77 11.027 and look at the tall black smoke-stacks. Count the number of stacks and subtract four.

C = go to N40 06.983 W77 11.355 and look at the front of the building. How many big round cylindrical architectural structures are on the front of the building?

B = while at N40 06.983 W77 11.355……go inside. Hours are Mon-Thur 10-9, Fri 10-6 and Saturday 9-4. Inside, find the fireplace under the name-sake’s portrait. Using the electrical color code for resistors, take the color of the most prevalent tiles on the face of the fireplace, convert it to a number using the code, and add one.

E = go to N40 07.384 W77 11.208 and look for the sign at the end of the third baseline. The digit you want is in the “hundreds” position.

D = go to N 40 06.968 W77 11.883 and park. Find the sliding board and count the number of rungs.

Y = while at N 40 06.968 W77 11.883……find the ball field. Notice the color of the plastic protector on the top of the outfield fence. To this color, add the color blue to get a new color. Using the electrical color codes for resistors, take the new, mixed color and convert it to a number using the code.

Please replace the cache exactly as you found it. Leaf cover can make this one a little more difficult – please allow PLENTY OF TIME for your GPS to settle in.

CONGRATULATIONS to pamap on the FTF!
