Schmittenstein Traditional Cache

Der Schmittenstein ist Teil der Osterhorngruppe und bietet ein tolles Panorama in alle Richtungen, auch auf Teile der Stadt Salzburg.

The Schmittenstein is part of the Osterhorngruppe und gives a great panorama to all directions, also to parts of the city Salzburg.

Es gibt mehrere Routen auf den Schmittenstein (1695 m ü. M.), nur als Vorschläge:

• Anfahrt über Adnet, Richtung Krispl. Start vom Gasthaus Zillreith (47°41.580'N, 13° 10.920'E, ~1100 m ü. M.) aus, über den Gipfel des Schlenken und den Verbindungs-Grat. Gut kombinierbar mit Cache In die Berg bin i gern.
• Anfahrt über Bad Vigaun, Richtung Sankt Koloman. Start von der Nigelkaralm (47°40.000'N, 13° 12.680'E, ~1000 m ü. M.) aus.

There are various routes to the Schmittenstein (1695 m ASL), just as proposals:

• Coming from Adnet, heading to Krispl. Start at tavern Zillreith (47°41.580'N, 13° 10.920'E, ~1100 m ASL), to the summit of the Schlenken, then crossing the ridge.Good to combine with cache In die Berg bin i gern.
• Coming from Bad Vigaun, heading to Sankt Koloman. Start at the Nigelkaralm (47°40.000'N, 13° 12.680'E, ~1000 m ASL).

Der Cache befindet sich unterhalb des Gipfels, an einem kleinen Seitenpfad in den Latschen. Spoilerfoto beachten!

TRITTSICHERHEIT, SCHWINDELFREIHEIT und ALPINE ERFAHRUNG notwendig (laut Wegweiser)!.

Laut Einheimischen soll es "relativ viele" Schlangen (Kreuzottern) am Weg/Gipfel geben.

SURE OF STEP, FREEDOM FROM GIDDINESS und ALPINE EXPERIENCE necessary (according to trail sign)!.

According to local inhabitants there are comparably much Snakes (crossed vipers) on the trail/summit.
