Encantara - "Will Enchant". Most appropriate for our beautiful
state. This cache is half of my state/city cache duo. The other
cache,"Albus Quercus", is more challenging. This cache is larger,
easier to find, and more laid back. Much like comparing our state
to Albuquerque. If you feel ambitious, you might also like to try
Albus Quercus which is close, 9/10 mi. NE.
Cache is a moderate hike, about 8/10 mile from the parking area
at the end of Cabezon Rd. Head ESE from the Cabezon Rd. parking
area about 400 ft., cross two drainage ditches and head NE along
trail. Cache is about 3/4 mile and about 2/10 mile off the main
trail and about 30 ft. off the small trail that runs parallel with
the main trail.
Alternate parking and bosque access at the end of Via Oreada if
you don't feel like walking very far.
Terrain is typical bosque with minor elevation changes. Little
if any bushwhacking is required, depending on what direction you
come from
Cache container is a Royal Dansk cookie can that has been
camo-ed. It holds between a pint and a quart, so there's room for
swag, travel bugs and geocoins. Enjoy!
All of my hides now have a
"Kohavis Patience Factor". The cache page standard ratings for hide
difficulty and terrain are fine, but often there are hide locations
that require extra patience because of stealth needed, muggles
present requiring play-acting, puzzle difficulty, time required,
etc. I've attempted several caches that are technically very easy,
but these other factors have made me abandon it and come back at a
later date. These extra factors aren't reflected in the two main
difficulty ratings, so I've created my own composite rating, and
every hide of mine will now carry a rating from 1 to 6 which
considers all possible cache finding factors including hide
difficulty and terrain, which could influence whether you walk away
with a smiley or a DNF "frownie".
This cache has a Kohavis Patience Factor of:
