Geocache Description:

Near intersection of Wilson Lick Trail and Appalachian Trail in the Nantahala National Forest. Take NC 1310 to Wayah Bald Road. Wayah Bald Road is a gravel road. AT crosses NC 1310 here. Travel .9 of a mile to second parking area on the right on Wayah Bald Rd.. Park there. FS gate is number 69A. Take AT to the north for about .5 of a mile to intersection of Wilson Lick Trail and AT. You will be close. Terrain is rocky in spots. Cache is off the Wilson Lick Trail, not the AT.

Cache is 36 inches above ground. Look for a unique tree situation. Cache is cammoed. Slightly larger than a film cannister. Contains log only. A shorter route to the cache is from the Wilson Lick Ranger Station parking area. Wilson Lick was one of the first, if not the first, ranger station on the Nantahala National Forest. A delightful historical site. There is also another very good cache in the area. See Wayah Bald Cache.
