Rail Today - Trail Tomorrow Series
This Cache:
This
cache puts you down in the cement jungle of the I-235 US 400
interchage. You are mostly hidden from view as you search for this
cache. I once found a cache very near here that is long gone and
decided this series would be great to replace a cache in this
area.
About the Series:
This
series of caches have been placed in anticipation for when this
rail line is converted to a trail.
At that time, this cache name will change from Rail to
Trail.

Each cache in the series is uniquely numbered to indicate it's
approximate location on the rail line.
This cache is approximately 1.6 miles West of Meridian Ave.
(Meridian divides West from East, thus the name Meridian)
All caches West of Meridian Ave. are numbered with a 'W', those
East of Meridian Ave. with an 'E'.
Each mile of rail line has the capability of having up to 10
caches, however,
this is not always possible because of suitable hiding spots
within each mile stretch.
The first few miles going West would be as follows:
From Meridian Ave. to West St. numbers are between W0.0 and
W0.9
From West St. to Hoover Rd. numbers are between W1.0 and
W1.9
From Hoover Rd. to Ridge Rd. numbers are between W2.0 and
W2.9
From Ridge Rd. to Tyler Rd. numbers are between W3.0 and
W3.9
From Tyler Rd. to Maize Rd. numbers are between W4.0 and
W4.9
From Maize Rd. to 119th numbers are between W5.0 and W5.9
The first few miles going East would be as follows:
From Meridian Ave. to Seneca St. numbers are between E0.0 and
E0.9
From Seneca St. to Broadway St. numbers are between E1.0 and
E1.9
From Broadway St. to Hydraulic St. numbers are between E2.0 and
E2.9
From Hydraulic St. to Hillside St. numbers are between E3.0 and
E3.9
From Hillside St. to Oliver St. numbers are between E4.0 and
E4.9
From Oliver St. to Woodlawn Blvd. numbers are between E5.0 and
E5.9
It is my hope that other local Geocachers will flood this rail
line with caches.
(maybe one day creating a contiguous caching line from San Diego to
New York)
REMEMBER:
- Make the fair trade.
- Log your visit.
- Leave the site better than you found
it.
- Protect the environment —
always.
- Educate those around you.
- Find another cache!
Good luck, and may all your cache dreams
come true. Rob
