This cache has been placed for the CCARW10 event, held May 1-2, 2010. This cache was released to the public on April 28, but should not be located prior to noon, May 1. The caches for the event are released early so that the caching community has an opportunity to solve puzzles and plan their routes prior to the event start.
While geocaching in Fish Creek Park five years ago, we found outforthehunt's replacement "Six Coloured Caches - BLUE" cache. The original cache had gone missing.
Then we found some other nearby caches, and then EdgeMonk Jr spotted outforthehunt's original BLUE cache!
Our log from 2005 shows our surprise. outforthehunt didn't want the original container back, so we hatched the idea for setting up a cache to be called "Out of the BLUE". We stocked the cache with blue trading items, and it was riding around in our cachemobile for over three years. We placed it nearly a year and a half ago, but we then decided to make it a letterbox cache. We didn't have any information to use for clues, so we didn't release it. It has been placed and unfound since that time. Finally with the CCARW10 category of placing a Tribute cache, EdgeMonk Jr (who is now driving, how time flies by) and I went out and gathered some information. We obviously don't rush into our cache placements!
OFTH, thanks for the hours you spend on making this an enjoyable sport! To the other cachers, please enjoy finding one of OFTH's original containers.
So at long last, and without further ado, here is outforthehunt's original Six Coloured Caches - BLUE cache container, and our new cache, Out of the BLUE, OFTH, CCARW10.
As a letterbox cache, please go to the above coordinates and look around. You may find a word like up, down, right or left. Pretend you have a map (you shouldn't of course, you have your trusty GPSr). You will travel in the direction indicated.
You may also notice two three-digit numbers, one on top of the other. Use the last digit of the second number, and the middle digit of the first number to form a two digit number.
Use your powers of observation one last time to determine what are appropriate units for this area.
Drive in the direction indicated for at least the indicated count, but no more!
Now you are close. Find the cache in the obvious place.
Please take note of the three digit code for a future wherigo cache.
