Geocache Description:

Secret Passage to Simi Peak, cache # 3.

This trail may be the prettiest trail in Ventura County, and that's saying a lot! It follows a rocky ridgeline with views to the south of Oak Park and the Lindero/Kanan area, and views to the north of Albertson Mtwy with Wood Ranch and Simi Valley beyond. But the real beauty is in the sandstone formations and rocky landscape.

It starts at the Oakbrook Vista Trail in the Oakbrook Regional Park and and connects to the Simi Peak Trail a few hundred yards before the peak. The distance one way is 1.7 miles with a cumulative climb of about 900 feet. In addition, the trail starts 1.3 miles from parking at the cache "Oakbrook Trailhead" (GC1JJTK, (visit link) ), with about 650 feet of climbing.

The trail is mostly easy to follow except for a steep section in the middle that goes through a field of large boulders. You can find detailed trail maps and descriptions, along with elevation profile and GPS tracks here (visit link) . You should download the GPS track to help you find your way.

You are looking for a small plastic food container hidden in a hole on the rocks to the west of the oak tree. Be carefull around these rocks - they are steep and could be slippery. Do not attempt to retrieve this cache is the rocks are wet!
