Geocache Description:

A two-stage multi-cache with a bit of history thrown in as well. First stage is just information gathering, and the second stage is an easy walk from the first. I would avoid this on Sunday mornings. OK, its not a "corner" of the plat, but it marks the line between Jones Point and the western vertex in Falls Church for the original District of Columbia.

At the posted coordinates you will find a historical marker. Get some information here for your next coordinates: For the latitude, use N 38-49.xxx, and add the marker number (i.e., ___ Southwest) to 112 for the missing digits. For longitude, start with W 077-04.xxx; take the years that the marker was placed, round to the nearest 10, and knock off the "0" (e.g., if 1862-4, make it 1860 and use "186"), then add this number to 551 to find the coordinates.
