Located off the 2700 block of Cope Road (Hwy 322) just outside the town of Norway. It is a small magnetic container hidden in a likely place, but out of view
Hint is a big spoiler.
Terrain is grassy but the cache is only about 40-50 feet from pavement. You do not have to enter the fenced in bleacher area (Though it IS open) nor do you have to fight through all the waist high weeds on the ballfield.
This is #15 in our "WEIRD SC" Series which will consist of caches placed at locations where either ghosts, unknown creatures, or just plain weird things have occurred or exist.
We think our State Motto should change to "Smiling Faces, Haunted Places".
Located just outside of the Town of Norway, S.C. is an old abandoned ballpark. It used to pack people in to watch America's favorite pasttime. But now it is overgrown with weeds, the old concession area is falling down, and the bleachers have been almost overgrown by vines and weeds, the wooden seats bowed and cracked.
No, there wasn't some great calamity or accident resulting in players deaths that occured there or some scary tale of late night lovers slain on the diamond.
BUT several locals did tell us that the ballfield was built over an old Indian burial ground and that at night you can see eerie lights dancing in the area; mostly from the surrounding woods but also several that spin madly around the center area.
Apparantly when the ballfield was originally built the planners and workers knew it was an Indian burial area but ignored it.
Though it does not make sense in an Indian Burial Ground several people also report seeing a slave in chains walking through the area glowing, and that he cries out in pain at the sight of a living being.
All Aries knows is that over several hours he never saw a thing there.
Oh, but it WAS daylight!!!!
