Geocache Description:

Mountainous..moderate uphill slope,old trail, stream..;at 2400ft elevation ...,Chattahochee Natl. Forest. Please don't leave gum,candy,oinments or anything sweet or food items!

Trail head is at GooseCreek,off US 129 ,below Vogel State Park. Stop and check with store..good parking. The store is located in the orginal recreation and mess hall of the CCC camp that built the state park in 1930s. Worth the visit inside if open. Neat historical building and the only remnant of the Civilian Conservation Corps -Camp Enotah left in the area. A photo of the camp can be seen at the CCC Musuem at Vogel State Park 1 mile away..
Once checked in at GooseCreek store... proceed thru the campground and look for Campsite 21 .....a small bridge fords Goose Creek. ....Go up the creek,(east)following the old CCC Trail on the left bank (north). Beautiful Hemlocks and towering white pines. This is part of the old CCC Bridal and Road Trail system.
Look for a particularly large white pine and to the left east/northeast is a large Hemlock. Your getting close. XCache is a trad. ammo box with something for every one..young and old. For the adventorous... you can continue up the trail and intersect a South Bound Trail that will take you to Yellow Mountain thru Yellow Mountain Gap.. There is another Flying Pig Cache (#3) down FS Rd 117B and a third cache off Helton Creek Rd.. This makes a nice loop hike..Have fun

Small note: As required by the USFS for caches hidden in the Chattahoochee National Forest the cache is prominantly labeled as a geocache and the label includes the GC1J1TH waypoint number and the owner's e-mail address. Enjoy!
