Noto centro di allenamento di una famosa squadra lombarda
Accanto al centro sportivo e golf club ' La Pinetina' c'è il centro sportivo "Angelo Moratti" di Appiano Gentile, in provincia di Como. E' stato costruito agli inizi degli anni Sessanta su volontà del presidente Angelo Moratti e con la precisa indicazione dell'allora allenatore dell'Inter, il "Mago" Helenio Herrera.
La zona, immersa nel verde della pineta di Appiano Gentile, è ideale per la preparazione, gli allenamenti e i ritiri delle squadre di calcio. L'Inter ne usufruisce ininterrottamente dalla stagione sportiva 1961-62: ogni giorno, sui campi erbosi del centro sportivo, i calciatori nerazzurri si allenano e preparano le sfide con gli avversari.
