Crooke, County Waterford.
There are three sites of interest at this quiet place, which is situated at the edge of Crooke village.
There are the remains of a castle, which was built in the 13th century by the Knights Templar who established a preceptory there. A short distance away are the ruins of a 14th century church, which was dedicated to Saint John The Baptist. There is also an overgrown holy well nearby, where one of the door lintels of the castle can be spotted.
Crooke also lends it's name to the phrase 'by hook or by crook' - quoted by Oliver Cromwell.
Crooke is located approximately 1km south of Passage East along the coastline.
The cache is a small plastic film canister. Please replace securely after logging. BYOP.
