The Wakefield Way is a
75 mile walking route around the Wakefield Metropolitan District
and offers an introduction to the area's variety of attractive
landscapes and wealth of history.

_____________
This series of the
Wakefield Way is set along the Calder and Hebble Navigation from
Horbury Bridge along a narrow isthmus between the canal and
the river Calder before turning inland at Figure of 3 Bridge and
climbs to Ossett. The area shows
much evidence of the previous commercial communications and
logistical importance of the area with the nearby Healey Mills
sidings and the canal
The paths in this
section of the Wakefield Way are not generally suitable for buggies
and wheel chairs and are quite narrow along the canalside and in
other parts can be quite wet and muddy after
rain.
Please keep children
under close supervison near the water
This is a 1/2 litre clip
lock box with log book, pencil and a few small goodies
You may also be frustrated
by fisher muggles along the canal particularly if there is a match
on which could make your task particularly difficult

It is hoped
that other cachers in and around Wakefield/Leeds area will also
join in and place caches along The Way until we complete the
circuit and encircle The Merrie City in a ring of tupperware.
