**********************Congratulations to LargeFry for a Frigid FTF***************** Call me for partial coords for Heron Pond!!! (# in log book). Trailhead is at the rear of the old Middlesex Hospital’s Shoreline Clinic off Route 153 in Essex; parking for 2-3 vehicles at the preserve sign (coordinates provided). Open dawn to dusk. Steep elevation change; views of Birch Mill Pond and winter views from ledge; about a half mile round trip. Container is a small lock & lock.
Welcome to my ELT geocache series. I have gone on several preserve hikes in the past sponsored by the Essex Land Trust and would like to share these wonderful “pocket parks” with my fellow geocachers. The ELT preserve trails are all generally easy to follow with colored markers on the trees. There are a total of five caches in this series, each in its own preserve: James Glen, Tiley Pratt Pond, Windswept Ridge, Fern Ledge, and Heron Pond. The whole series could probably be completed in 4-5 hours, if you’re so inclined. Have fun!

Trail Notes:
Follow the yellow trail to the top of the ridge; it loops around for an easier way down. Re-checked coordinates on two visits.
