Flash mob!
Arlington style: Phoons
Here's how this one works:
- at 5 p.m. Saturday, December 6th: gather by the statue of the
children balancing on the log.
- 5:00 - 5:08: warm up those muscles, sign the log, trade
TBs.
- 5:09: at the sound of the whistle (or gong or whatever
instrument is left over from 2:00, assume the Phoon position.
- 5:10 - 5:14: hold the position, hold for the group photo, no
cramping or falling over, try not to giggle.
- 5:15: leave and head for the post-flash mobs
gathering.
What is a Phoon, you ask?

Rules for the Phoon pose:
- Stand sideways to the camera. (A Phoon is always viewed from
the side.)
- Bend your arms at the elbows. (Look like an athletic runner,
not a ballerina.)
- Lift your rear elbow (not your hand) so that it is easy to see
behind your back.
- Lean forward at the waist. This will help you look more
energetic and will help you lift your rear ankle.
- Bend at the knee in the leg you're standing on.
- Lift your rear leg to a mid-stride running position.
- When possible, do not look at the camera and do not smile.
(Yeah, right!)
- Either arm can be the rear arm. Either leg can be the rear
leg.
- You may pheel a little phoolish, but just join us and have some
phoon!
