Geocache Description:

A not-so-quick cache-and-dash as you enter the town of Philomath, Oregon.

Philomath, Oregon was founded in 1867 by the United Brethren Church, and incorporated in 1882. When you visit this cache, we encourage you to learn more about Philomath at the Benton County Historical Society & Museum, which is a short drive away on Highway 20. Another benefit to visiting the museum is another cache ( GC1BY20)!

You are looking for a nano-sized container. Log only, so please bring your own writing instrument. Terrain rated 1.5 because it is not really wheelchair-accessible. Also, it might be best to attempt this one at night because Highway 20 (which is directly next to the cache location) is generally quite busy during the day.

The best parking is at Philomath Plaza (N 44° 32.409 W 123° 21.414).
