La Route du Chocolat a été inaugurée en Alsace le 3 mai 2007. Cette
nouvelle route touristique manquait à l’Alsace, première de
la classe avec 40% de l’exportation française de chocolat
ainsi que du tonnage de chocolat travaillé par
habitant !
La route du chocolat #4
va vous emmener vers Avolsheim et son célèbre
confiseur-chocolatier.
Avant de croquer le
chocolat, un peu d’histoire sur ce très joli
village d’Alsace :
La première trace écrite
du nom du village s’appelant alors
« HUNZOLFESHEIM » date de l'an 788. On le retrouve en
1051 orthographié : AVELSHEIM, puis en 1350: AFELSHEIM d' où sa
forme dialectale : ÂFELSE. En 1496 on l'écrivait : AFELTZHEIM
et en 1589 à nouveau : AVELSSHEIM, mais avec 2 "S"
Depuis lors le village porte son nom actuel
et son orthographe n'a plus évolué. Avolsheim est située sur la
voie gallo-romaine reliant Molsheim à Saverne; de nombreux objets
datés de cette période y ont été mis au jour en
1930.

history on this lovely village of Alsace:
The first written record of the
name of the village then called "HUNZOLFESHEIM" date of the year
788. It is found in 1051 spelled: AVELSHEIM, then in 1350:
AFELSHEIM of where it dialect: ÂFELSE. In 1496 it wrote: AFELTZHEIM
and in 1589 again: AVELSSHEIM, but with 2 "S"
Since then the village bears his
