Geocache Description:

To get the final coordinates for this cache you will need to visit Gass Peak.

At the given coordinates above (on the summit of Gass) you will find a metal tripod set in concrete (see the picture below). On that concrete is written a 5 digit date in this format:
A - BC - DE

Using those corresponding numbers the actual cache can be found at:
N36 BA.EEB
W115 2E.EDA

Gass Peak is at the northern end of the Las Vegas valley and offers a unique view looking almost due south down I-15 and the Strip. A good starting point for the hike is the "Gass Peak foothill Cache" (GC4648). On the ridge just south of that cache is a faint trail that will lead you up the ridgelines to the summit. I only rated the terrain as 3.5 because the trail never gets too steep up this route. No rock scrambling is required. However, if you choose a different route or if you do this hike in the summer heat the terrain rating could easily go up. The hike is about 2.5 miles from the foothill cache to the summit with an elevation gain of over 1700 feet.

While at the summit don't forget to log the Gass Peak benchmark (GR1792) also.
