A short walk/ski along the Cartwheel Trail.
Stake Lake Cross Country Ski Trails were created when the proposed
Coquihalla Highway was to cut through the middle of the cross
country trails in the Bush Lake system. Once designed, about 60km
of trails were cut over several years and the system was originally
managed by an operator out of Lac le Jeune, but over time, the
trail system has been managed by the volunteer-driven Overlander
Ski Club. Cartwheel is one of the trails in the Stake Lake network.
It circles Stake Lake, traveling 2.6 km in a loop. The cache was
placed with hikers, mountain bikers, and cross country skiers in
mind. The hide location is protected from winter snows. The
container was taken out of a nearby cache (Lack of de Poles) as a
trade-able item and placed on the same day in its current location.
