This cache is along a scenic drive that leads to the Rim Rock Scenic Overlook in the Allegheny National Forest
The Rim Rock Scenic Overlook in the Allegheny National Forest is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the ANF.
On any given weekend in the summer, hundreds or thousands of people come there to enjoy the sites and attractions.
This is one of several geocaches in the area, that visitors can do year round. I do have a harder to do geocache in the area (Cornplanters Cave), so I thought I'd place this one as a "real easy" but still scenic cache for those who are less able to climb around on rocks.
Having said that, this IS hidden near a rock that has a very nice view from it. The rock make a great place to stand or sit to view the valley below. And it's a very short, relatively flat walk from where you might park the car (in the spring, summer and fall) when the access road is open.
Note: The scenic overlook access road is closed in the winter, but there is parking at the gate and lot's of people cross country ski or snow-shoe in to the Rim Rock area where there is enough snow.
Have fun!
This is a small cache, so bring small trades with you.
