Be careful on HWY 1 it can get busy. After you park your car on the south side of the Auberge Mendocino Bed & breakfast Inn you will need to walk back out onto HWY 1 North. Walk a short distance around to the north side of Auberge B & B and enter path. Nice 1/2 mile hike.

This lovely trail on Van Damme State property leads through beautiful forest where you will spot many deer and birds. It is an enjoyable hike out to the headlands where the ocean in all its majesty will greet you. There are benches carved from tree trunks where you can rest and reflect. Having just returned from visiting the Atlantic and Caribbean, this site was chosen as it has an awesome view of the Pacific and is very near where we have spent many an ocean dive. From sea to wondrous sea! Cache is a small waterproof cammo box and contains a wooden helicopter, plastic fish suncatcher, pushpin, bunny eraser, a seahorse, sea star and goldfish puffy stickers, pen and notepad log. We also left for FTF a traveling geocoin we brought back from Bonaire, Netherlands with us.
