The 4 corners of Paphos + 1
(comprising 4 stages and a bonus)
North Point
Welcome to a series of caches we have called "The 4 corners of
Paphos +1". This will take you on a journey through the western
most district of Cyprus. At each point, North, South, East and
West, you will collect some clues. These will help you work out the
coordinates to the bonus cache in the Centre. We have planned it in
such a way that if you wish you should be able to take all 5 in a
day without having to back track too much, but of course, it is not
a must. A saloon car can do the trip, but at least for the Akamas
stage we strongly recommend 4x4 transportation. The suggested route
would start at the East Point, which should suit those of you
residing around Limassol/Nicosia area. Continue to South Point,
then West Point in the Akamas, and North Point before the bonus
Centre Point. This being an island, some of the points would be
close to water, wouldn’t they, so those caches have been placed
some hundred or so meters from the map point to stop them being
swept out at sea during the first winter storm. So, here we go!
The road to this cache takes you through citrus groves and it is
not unusual to see unattended tables by the road side offering bags
or oranges for sale and a small tin where you put your money.
Further on, the route is one of the most picturesque coastal routes
in Cyprus. The mountains fall vertically to the sea, and their
slopes are covered with pine trees.
The cache contains a TB and the usual logbook, pen, FTF certificate
and a scratch card lottery ticket. At one of our caches recently we
had a lucky winner, and we hope this one will also make somebody
happy. Don't forget to write down the clues!
