Hiding in Plain Sight: A Nature Lover's Cache Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

bigdogsrule: Hi everyone. This cache is now archived so please don't go looking for it. Thanks to everyone who visited it and signed the logbook. Keeping up a multi can be difficult especially when the stages deteriorate, so I decided to finally pull the plug on this one. The first stage was a pine cone containing a micro, hiding in plain sight on a ......yup, pine tree....
The second was a fake rock hiding under a stump, hiding in plain sight as in, pretending to be a rock...
The last stage was a large box hiding in near a rotting tree. I had a blast trying to , as someone put it, shoehorn the cache in between ones that at the time were already there.

Geocache Description:

Placed with permission of Montgomery Parks.Three-part multi-cache
located in Ridge Road Recreational Park. A nice walk in the woods in an
unexpectedly peaceful spot given the surrounding suburban hubbub.
The caches are the interesting thing. Park free, closes at
dusk(info above). Parking within 200 feet of first cache. Total
walk no more than about ¼ mile round trip. All caches very near
trail. Difficulty rating due to nature of hides.

.Stage one used to be a pine cone. The cone is broken and is only a bison tube now and therefor no longer a masquerade. Stage two IS a masquerade. If you cannot read coordinates for stage 2 from stage one paper they are listed in the hints but only use this if you really cannot read them.PLEASE NOTE: Please take care in unrolling paper, with coordinates for stage two on it, from tube at stage one. Use dry hands if possible and replace carefully. Seems to work better if you insert it into the lid part prior to screwing it back on.Also, the coordinates for the final stage are not precise due to bounce. I have had two sets myself out there and now have had two cachers report - one who found it with a new set, and one who found it 25 feet from the original set. The coordinates written in stage 2 cache to find stage 3 will need to be altered but try the following ones if the ones in the cache don't work for you.:Subtract .010 from N coordinates and subtract .014 from W coords.(Thanks to Johnny Cache). I will try to average things after a few more reports - Here is an extra hint for the final stage - it is not on the same side of the trail as stage 2.Also, the final stage is an extremely traditional and obvious cacher type hide. It screams "there is a cache hiding here".
Think outside the box for this one. NOTES. PLEASE READ: Coordinates for cache no. 2 are found in cache no. 1, coords for cache no. 3 are found in cache no.2. Caches are of varying sizes with trade items in final cache, which is quite large. Cache no. 1 is in plain sight of muggles so be stealthy, just like the cache is being stealthy. Do NOT remove cache no. 1 from its location. You can and must open it without removing it! It is very fragile. In cache 2 you can read coordinates of cache 3 without removing paper from plastic. (I hope it will remain dry if people don't open the bag) .Please rehide caches no.2 and 3 exactly as found.(There is also a letterbox very very near cache no.2.). Cache 3 is hiding in the open so be sure to replace well hidden! Spoiler alert: If you need them and cannot read stage 3 coords from stage 2 paper , stage 3 coords are:N 39° 12.339 W 077° 14.691 .
