Geocache Description:

cache location is obvious when you get there some bushwhaking at the end shade might bother receivers stay on the road from the parking lot, almost all the way. if you come in from the south it's much more difficult, but maybe more fun.

Follow the signs on Hwy 77 to come explore this beautiful historic site on the Oregon Trail. Alcove Spring was a rest stop, and a place to ford the Blue River. You can see the wagon swales, the carvings left in the rocks by the early travelers, and see where they forded the river.

While here follow the many trails, find the other caches here (there are 2 others), experience some of what the Indians, trappers, and pioneers felt. You will see the beauty of this part of Kansas, that people are surprised exists.

Plan some extra time here to hike the many trails. There are 7 miles of well marked trails here in the park. You will find a spring that never goes dry, woods, meadows, hills, and vistas to view.
Marysville to the north has 5 caches and Blue Rapids to the south has 3 caches. Come spend some time in our beautiful part of Kansas.

The cache is a plastic jar . The usual trade items. Nothing of great value. For the first to find there is a new Travel Bug for you to activate. Please let me know where you place it. I'd like to follow it.

Good Luck and Happy Caching.
