"Wayford Woods are open during daylight hours to any person prepared to respect their beauty & tranquility"
N.B. the Estate has removed all the fairy doors which used to be found within the woods
Sited adjacent to the public footpath which runs on the paved track outside of Wayford Woods itself, you are searching for a small lock'n'lock beaker - big enough only for a logbook and small swaps.
The track is passable for saloon cars with care on the rutted surface, alternatively park in the village of Wayford for a pleasant walk.
Wayford Woods were originally planted as an extension to the Wayford Manor Gardens after WW1 and contain many rhododendron species and fine specimen trees - the Dawn Redwood and Handkerchief trees are some of the oldest in the country. A stream runs through the sloping meadow into an ornamental lake.
The cache originally contained a logbook & pencil and a FTF certificate + prize token, plus small swaps:
fluorescent rubber snake
football jibbit
alien jibbit
History Makers badge
lion eraser
