.THE MASCHO BUILDING IS AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF TERRITORIAL COMMERCIAL ARCHITECTURE IN CHANDLER, AND THE BRICK PRIVY AT THE REAR OF THE BUILDING IS THE ONLY EXTANT EXAMPLE OF A BRICK PRIVY IN LINCOLN COUNTY. THE MASCHO BUILDING IS A TWO-STORY ROMANESQUE REVIVAL BUILDING CLAD IN LOCAL SANDSTONE, WITH REMARKABLE ARCHED WINDOW OPENINGS ON THE SECOND FLOOR. LISTED IN THE NATIONAL REGISTER, 4/5/1984 THIS IS PART 3 OF A CHANDLER SERIES ON HISTORICAL BUILDINGS AND MAJOR CHANGES IN CHANDLERS HISTORY.

Founded on April 26, 1954, the Lincoln County Historical Society and Museum of Pioneer History is dedicated to the preservation of local history and the education of future generations in our shared heritage.

In 1966 the museum moved into its permanent home at 717 Manvel, known as the Mascho Building after the original owner. In 1982 the twin buildings at 719 Manvel were purchased with funds raised by the historical society. These two buildings are some of the oldest structures in Lincoln County.
