Geocache Description:

Located at the posted coordinates you will find a plaque that talks about the Burlington Church Street Marketplace Earthline. The earthline is the longitudinal line at W73° 13' in which the City of Burlington falls on.

Stretching all along the center of the marketplace thoroughfare there is a dark grey line of bricks that represents this earthline. This plaque is located at the spot representative of the equator along this line, which extends 90° to the north and 90° to the south at approximately 3 foot (or so) intervals per degree latitude. Located throughout the marketplace brickwork along this line are markers with city names. These markers can be found near the corresponding degree of latitude where the actual city is located on the earth.

To find the cache you will need to locate the nine items listed below along the earthline, and then plug your answers into the appropriate placeholders for the final coordinates.

The virtual stages mentioned below are all at ground level and may not be visible just after a snow storm until the city clears the marketplace. The final is winter friendly, but you may need EXTREME stealthiness when searching for it. The final is also NOT 4 miles away.

Have fun!

A. Just south of the 50°N marker is a city marker. How many words make up the city's name.

B. Between the 80°S and 90°S markers is a dedication plaque. Subtract 1 from the number of the month stated on the plaque.

C. Near the 20°N marker is a city marker. This marker has a name that is hyphenated. Subtract 1 from the number of letters in the last part of the city's name.

D. If you stand at the 20°S marker and look towards the west you will see a storefront with a 2 digit street address. What is the first digit?

E. At the posted coordinates I mentioned a plaque that is present. What is the 2nd digit of the day listed on the date on the plaque?

F. There are two city markers near 40°N. How many letters in the name of the city that is closest to 40°N in latitude?

G. Approximately 8 feet from the 10°S marker is another city marker. How many letters in this city's name?

H. If you stand at the 60°S marker and look directly to the east you will see a storefront with it's street address listed in gold leaf in the window above the door. Add the two smaller digits togther, and then subtract this result from the larger digit.

I. If you stand on the line directly in front of the Burlington Town Center entrance you will find a city marker right next to the line. How many letters in it's name?

The final is at:
North 44° AB.CDE
West 73° F.GHI
