carefreehwy: Spent the day with the pups at Gilley Creek with the intention of replacing the cache. Decided instead to archive the cache because it is now completely surrounded by thick nasty palmettos.

The cache is located in Gilley Creek Preserve. My favorite, lots of wildlife. Bring your camera. Show me your favorite flower or nature shot. Tell me about what you saw today.
This cache is not difficult, you just have to wade through a few palmettos. I usually avoid palmettos, and have been know to swear at them on occasion. Maybe it was the sun, or perhaps the location just needed a cache. Or maybe I just got tired of carrying it. I’m not sure why I did it, but you can too!
Like all of the caches in NoWhere, come prepared. It’s not for everyone. There are a lot of caches out here but they require a significant bike/hike. Do expect to travel at least 15 miles in the sun. The terrain is a mixture of grass trails and sugar sand. Wear long pants and a hat. Bring more water than you think that you are going to need. Yes you’ll probably need lunch. Sunscreen is good, shady days are better. I usually figure on the “front end “ of Gilley taking about 45 min to hike (without picking up any caches on the way) before you reach NoWhere.
