Geocache Description:

Come one, come all to the Christmas BBQ at the Waterworks! You may even learn something!

Set your GPSr to Site #9 at the end of the Waterworks reserve and set your alarm for 5:30pm.

This event is for an informal Geocaching 101 event and for a Christmas BBQ. The idea is for you to ask questions about geocaching - tips, tricks, programs and, of course, have a feed as well.

Bring your own meat/meal and something to drink and mostly importantly, your questions.

Gurus will be on hand, to share their techniques, knowledge and stories. There will also be a trackables / coin table operating.

Getting good coordinates
Coins / path tags / travel bugs / swaggies
GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife)
OziExplorer
Paperless caching for Palm, Windows Mobile, iPhone or PocketPC.
Containers, bush safety, hiding caches, finding caches, and any other caching related questions.

For the newbies, there will be a DVD full of caching related software but I need to know if you want one or not. Please indicate in your ‘will attend’ log if you want one.
The DVD will be mostly the same as the previously produced GEO101, just a couple of small updates and hopefully some new stuff for phones. You could bring a clean USB drive if you wish SG-3...

So far SG-3 and 5commer3 want a disc...

The event will be run very informally.

There is no set menu or set lessons. Everything will be "Spur of the Moment" - you ask a question, you get an answer or steered in the right direction to someone who can answer your question.

The only set thing about this event is closing time - we have to be out by 9pm otherwise we stay all night!
