This little hike begins at the end of Swan's Rd, Bacchus Marsh.
Swan's road is named after Tom Swan, who in 1972, offered the Golf
Club 110 acres (Approx 40 Hectares) of land with 2.5km of
Lerderderg River frontage for the princely sum of $40,000. The golf
club celebrated it's centenary in 2007, having changed locations
approx 5 times, until finally owning land of their own. This may
not have been the case except for Tom's generosity.
It's about a 1/2 hour return trip to your car, and there is
sufficient parking for 2 or 3 cars.
When placed it contained: 3 superballs, fishing bells with
glowsticks, fishing lure, 1 & 2 cent pieces, LED Britelite,
& 4 Frictionless golf tees. I had to put something golf in!
Enjoy your walk, it starts fairly steep, but flattens off
quickly enough. You may decide to check out Graham Dam or McKenzies
Flat to cap off an easy find. I've re-checked the coordinates as
Google Maps doesn't show the T intersection of the tracks. Trust
your GPS!
