Mt. Liberty Traditional Cache

James Bridger: MISCELLANEOUS RANT:

I boast that I own nearly a thousand geocache hides. Come to find out, it's been the other way around this whole time.

Someone painted April Fool in big black letters on a Dead End sign.

Would you rather get one shot in the head or five in the chest and bleed to death?

Held his heart in his hands, and ate of it.

You pay as you go. Sometimes all you have.

I'm going outside now. I may be gone for some time.

I am shutting down the machine. A container will remain at the following location for a while yet, until I retrieve it, so you may find it normally. If you wish, you may take the container. If you do so, please indicate such in your log. Likewise, as I recover the container, I will post that I have removed the container.

Thank you to all who "Veni. Vidi. Vici."

Geocache Description:

This cache can be found and logged as a normal cache, but is also one of twelve caches needed to find GC1JFFC Paraskavedekatriaphobia. Inside this cache is a laminated card with a number that will be used to find GC1JFFC Paraskavedekatriaphobia. Please make note of this number so you can find the master cache, then leave this card in the cache so others may enjoy the hunt. You are looking for a container larger than a twelve ounce soda can, but smaller than a case of them.

The complete list of caches needed to finish this series are listed below:

GC1JFFF Lost Highway
GC1JFFG Two Twenty Five
GC1JFFH Detroit
GC1JFFJ Buffalo Rifle Five Four Niner
GC1JFFK Not Winston
GC1JFFM Phantasm
GC1JFFP Welcome to Water City
GC1JFFT Mt. Liberty
GC1JFFV Fort Solomon
GC1JFFW Four Dead in Ohio
GC1JFFX Price
GC1JFFY Vermont

En route to this cache you will pass the Mount Liberty United Methodist Church. The church held its services in a school house for 15 years before a church was built. A bell was obtained for the church and set in 1915. By 1919 the church had a membership of 99 people, and in the 1940's the church was remodeled with the steeple and bell being removed. In the early days, this was known as the United Brethren, but as more faiths combined, it became known as the United Methodist.

The cache is located in the cemetery, but you will not have to walk on any graves to find it. Take note of the different styles of stones. It is stated that a diphtheria epidemic was responsible for the large number of child deaths in the area. Respect the area and those interred here, CITO if needed, practice stealth, and rehide as you find it for the next cacher. Thank you and good luck.
