This cache is in honor of my 250th find. I wish to give back to the caching community once again. This is my 2nd hide. Waypoints were collected. I took the median readings then got the mean of them to come up with as accurate a reading as I could given the slight tree cover. Though there were several locations I could have hidden the cache in this vicinity I chose the one that was away from the trail, fishing and imbibing muggles.
Rocky Shoals Flowering Arachnids (no, spiders do not flower) can be found growing along the riverbanks in Riverfront Park. The bulbs are deposited in rock crevaces by winter rains and the seasonal elevation change in the river. The habitat is most unique. This flora blooms mid May to mid June. The chache is located along the Riverfront Park trail. It is a peanut butter jar. There are several placards located along the trail, be sure to read a few concerning the history of the river and canal and the plant and animal species that inhabit the area. (Mostly because this cache name is derived from the flora near one of these signs). Do not attempt this cache from the paved trail as it is steep, rather, use the packed dirt trail near the sign and 1 mile marker. Use caution as there is a slight elevation change near the cache. This is to be certain that cache hunting does not disturb the habitat of the flora as the river elevation does not reach this height. There are unkind plants in the area leading to the cache, namely prickers and holly. There are also rocks (visible and hidden under leaves) leading up to and on top of the hill.
